Shooting for the Shelves

After investing in a new cover for Shooting Stars, I am now shooting for the shelves – my goal is for physical copies of Shooting Stars to be stocked in a few select book stores and to do that I need a supply of books. Unfortunately the cover set me back more than I was expecting and online sales bring in such tiny royalties that to have any hope of getting books into the stores anytime soon, I'm going to have to raise the funds another way. So, I'm going to try Kickstarter.

My initial goal is NZ$2,500 to cover a print run of around 100 books plus incidental costs such as typesetting, printing costs of the rewards and promotion costs. If there is a good response to the campaign and then there is an additional stretch goal of NZ$10,500, which if met, I will invest the extra $8000 in getting an audiobook version produced professionally. I refuse to use an AI voice generator to make a cheap audiobook. I feel Shooting Stars and my readers deserve a professional human touch. 

As an exclusive reward for supporters of the Kickstarter campaign I am producing a short booklet, The Story Behind the Story. If you want to know what inspired Shooting Stars, then The Story Behind the Story is for you. In it I'll cover:
